Iced Coffee Smoothie

COFFEE. I really don’t understand why people have to be so salty about coffee. I’ve seen more posts about nixing coffee from your diet, and for some it's a health concern. I get that people don't like the fact that they RELY on this bean for energy. But coffee can actually be good for you! Just look at some of the health benefits; lowered risk of type 2 diabetes, increases fiber intake, lowered risk of Alzheimers, reduces depression, etc.


For me, one cup is the only thing that gets me going in the morning. Sure, I drink my teas and get my energy in other foods, but it's always coffee first.


Actually as I’m typing this, I’m drinking a coffee…so there’s that.


So it had me thinking, why not jazz it up a bit? With the warmer weather on its way, and my obsession with all things smoothies and blending everything I can find/put in a blender, why not make it a healthier option to those of us that want to indulge once and a while?!


2 cups ice

3/4 cup almond milk

1 frozen banana

1 cup of coffee, chilled

1 scoop protein powder


Throw it in a blender and whip that baby up!

This perfect for those hot summer months or right after a good workout!
